Firecomms’ world-class optical data transmission light sources and detectors make possible the use of plastic optical fiber (POF) in high bandwidth, low-cost links with exceptional data capacity. By mass producing these transceiver components, Firecomms enables new advances in low-cost fiber optic links and networks for consumer, automotive and industrial equipment.

Our RCLED and VCSEL visible light sources have unique properties that enable new applications and exciting improvements in existing applications. These properties include high bandwidth, high electro-optical conversion efficiency, narrow optical spectrum, and light emission in a narrow beam from a small circular spot. Firecomms RCLED operates at well over 100ºC, while the VCSEL gives true laser light with a single wavelength and a stable polarization.
