LTD. CEO DECLAN O'MAHONEY RE-ELECTED TO 1394 TRADE ASSOCIATION
2005 BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Cork, Ireland — February
3, 2005 — Declan O'Mahoney, the chief executive
officer of Firecomms, Ltd., has been re-elected to the 1394
Trade Association’s 2005 board of directors.
O'Mahoney
was re-elected for the second time, and will serve along
with eight other industry representatives on the board.
He first joined the 1394 TA board in 2003.
Other members
include Eric Anderson of Apple Computer, who is chairman,
and Max Bassler of Molex Inc., who is vice chair. Dave
Thompson of Agere Systems was re-elected secretary, and
Jalil Oraee of Oxford Semiconductor (Britain) will continue
as financial officer. Other re-elected members are Sam
Liu of Newnex and Jong-Wook Park of Samsung Electronics
(Korea). Elected to the board for the first time in 2005
are Michael Scholles of Fraunhofer IPMS (Germany), and
Peter Johansson, Congruent Software. Johansson will serve
as editor and chief technology officer.
O'Mahoney has been
active on various 1394 Trade Association committees, serving
as the first chair of the Residential Networking Work Group,
which was formed in late 2003, and as a member of the 1394
Automotive Work Group and the Cables/Connectors Work Group.
He also has been an active participant in the Trade Association’s
marketing programs, and has served as a primary speaker
at various trade events including POF World and Net@Home,
the prestigious European home networking conference.

looking forward to working hard to move the 1394 technology
forward in 2005," he
said. "There is significant momentum in the consumer
electronics sector, with new 1394- equipped HDTVs, DVD
recorders, and many other exciting products. I also expect
major steps forward in automotive applications using 1394."
